Melk, a small town of about 5,000, hugs the south side of the Danube.
On the 15th (Sun), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Melk Abbey, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Stadtpfarrkirche Maria Himmelfahrt, and then explore the historical opulence of Schallaburg. On the 16th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the verdant scenery at Wachau Valley, pause for some serene contemplation at Stift Heiligenkreuz, then take in the dramatic natural features at Seegrotte Hinterbruhl, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Evangelische Pfarrgemeinde A.B..
