Denver to Colorado Springs is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train and flight. In April, daily temperatures in Colorado Springs can reach 60°F, while at night they dip to 33°F. On the 12th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
