Lake George — 2 nights

Queen of the American Lakes

A playground for America’s wealthy families, Lake George was nicknamed "Queen of the American Lakes." While these families often stayed in private country houses, a tourism industry built up around them in the early 20th century facilitated by two YMCAs.
Venture out of the city with trips to Ticonderoga (Fort Ticonderoga & Star Trek Original Series Set Tour) and Natural Stone Bridge and Caves (in Pottersville). The adventure continues: take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, play a few rounds at Gooney Golf, explore the activities along Lake George, and get engrossed in the history at Fort William Henry Museum.
