A modern, bustling city known for its beer brewery, Sapporo attracts millions of visitors with its Snow Festival, during which elaborate ice and snow sculptures are exhibited all over town.
Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Sat): contemplate the long history of Sapporo Clock Tower, get into the urban bustle at Sapporo Underground Shopping Centre Aurora Town, walk around Asahiyama Kinen Koen, then examine the collection at The Hokkaido University Museum, then enjoy the scholastic atmosphere at Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus, and finally take a stroll through Susukino. Keep things going the next day: make a trip to JR Otaru Station, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Otaru Aquarium, examine the collection at Otaru-shi General Museum, then contemplate the long history of The Site of Temiya Line, then contemplate the waterfront views at Otaru Canal, and finally get interesting insight from Tours.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are New Chitose Airport, Asahikawa Airport and Hakodate Airport. In July, plan for daily highs up to 26°C, and evening lows to 24°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Mon) early enough to catch the flight to Tokyo.

Fly from Sapporo to Tokyo in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. While traveling from Sapporo, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Tokyo, ranging from highs of 36°C to lows of 27°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Tue) to allow enough time to fly back home.
