Step off the beaten path and head to Mala Walk and Mutitjulu Waterhole. Get outdoors at Uluru and Kata Tjuta / Mount Olga. Step out of Yulara with an excursion to Walpa Gorge in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park--about 38 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: trek along Kuniya Walk, surround yourself with nature on Uluru Camel Tours, head outdoors with Uluru Audio Guide, and go for a walk through Field of Light.

Melbourne to Yulara is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) to Australian Central Standard Time (ACST), which is usually a -0.5 hour difference. In September, Yulara is a bit warmer than Melbourne - with highs of 33°C and lows of 11°C. On the 26th (Tue), you're off to Kings Canyon.
