Traveling by train from Himeji to Hiroshima takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train and bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 22°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Tue) to allow time to take a train to Kyoto.

Explore Kyoto's surroundings by going to Osaka (Universal Studios Japan & Kemasakuranomiya Park) and Dotombori (Dotombori District & Ukiyokoji Street). Take a train from Hiroshima to Kyoto in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train. In May, daily temperatures in Kyoto can reach 29°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) early enough to drive to Kanazawa.

While traveling from Kyoto, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Kanazawa, ranging from highs of 26°C to lows of 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can fly to Hakone-machi.

Explore Hakone-machi's surroundings by going to Lake Kawaguchi (in Fujikawaguchiko-machi) and Fujiyoshida (Arakurayama Sengen Park & Chureito Pagoda). Spend the 15th (Mon) exploring nature at Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. You can fly from Kanazawa to Hakone-machi in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or drive. While traveling from Kanazawa, expect little chillier days and a bit warmer nights in Hakone-machi, ranging from highs of 21°C to lows of 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) to allow time to travel to Tokyo.

Step out of Tokyo with an excursion to Sakura no yama Park in Narita--about 1h 10 min away. There's lots more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, take a stroll through Odaiba District, walk around Ueno Park, and have some family-friendly fun at Owl Cafe Akiba Fukurou.

Traveling from Hakone-machi in May, expect nights in Tokyo to be about the same, around 19°C, while days are somewhat warmer, around 28°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Tue) early enough to catch the flight back home.
