Margaret River — 2 nights

On the 22nd (Sat), give your taste buds a day to remember with a local gastronomic tour. Spend the 24th (Mon) on a tasty journey with a beer tour and tasting. Next up on the itinerary: get up close to creatures of the deep with All Sea Charters, look for gifts at The Margaret River Chocolate Co, and explore the fascinating underground world of Lake Cave.

Perth to Margaret River is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Mon) early enough to go by car back home.

Adjacent to the Indian Ocean, the Margaret River Region is best known for the extensive cultivation of wine that to some extent defines it. The region boasts ideal conditions for viniculture, and as a result is one of Australia’s most prolific producers of wine. The area also possesses several hundred caves, six of which are open to the general public. The caves contain fossils thought to be over 35,000 years old.
