Getting from Sapporo to Otaru by car takes about an hour. Other options: drive; or take a train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in May, and nighttime lows around 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Niseko-cho.

Ranking as the most popular ski resort in Hokkaido, mountaintop Niseko-cho boasts great slopes and surprisingly vibrant nightlife.
