Onna-son — 2 nights

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Scuba & Snorkeling and Okinawa Peace Memorial Park. Do some cultural sightseeing at Katsuren Castle Ruins and Sefa-Utaki. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Onna-son: Motobu-cho (Emerald Beach & Bise no Fukugi Tree Road), Nakijin Castle Ruins (in Nakijin-son) and Kudakajima Island (in Nanjo). Toronto, Canada to Onna-son is an approximately 22-hour combination of flight and bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 14 hours traveling from Toronto to Onna-son. Traveling from Toronto in October, things will get much hotter in Onna-son: highs are around 33°C and lows about 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to travel to Miyakojima.

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Aragusuku Beach and Yabiji. Step out of the city life by going to Scuba & Snorkeling and Toguchi no Hama. There's lots more to do: get outside with Sawada no hama Beach, step off the mainland to explore Irabu-jima Island, kick back and relax at Sunayama Beach, and go for a walk through Imugya Marine Garden.

Getting from Onna-son to Miyakojima by combination of bus and flight takes about 4 hours. In October, daytime highs in Miyakojima are 33°C, while nighttime lows are 28°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Fri) early enough to travel to Iriomote-jima.

Iriomote-jima — 2 nights

Taketomicho Iriomote-Jima stands as the second largest island in Okinawa.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Sat): take in the waterfront activity at Uehara, admire the sheer force of Pinaisara Falls, then skim along the rocks with a canyoning and rapelling tour, and finally head off the coast to Iriomote Island. On the 9th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: head off the coast to Barasu Island, enjoy the sand and surf at Ida no Hama Beach, then kick back and relax at Shirahama Port, and finally head outdoors with Haemida Beach.

Traveling by combination of flight and ferry from Miyakojima to Iriomote-jima takes 4 hours. October in Iriomote-jima sees daily highs of 34°C and lows of 28°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sun) so you can ride a ferry to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki — 3 nights

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Visiting Kondoi Beach and Kaiji Beach will get you outdoors. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Island Countryside Settlement and Cape Hirakubozaki. Spend 12th (Wed) immersed in the deep blue with Prime Scuba Ishigaki Diving Center - Day Tour. A gateway to a sprawling and diverse national park, a center of Shinto spiritualism and place of Buddhist worship, an emblem of the riches and dominance of the Tokugawa shogunate: Nikko means many things to many people.

You can do a combination of flight and train from Ishigaki to Nikko in 7.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of flight and train. Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Ishigaki in October, with highs in Nikko at 22°C and lows at 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
