Traveling by train from Hiroshima to Himeji takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train. In October in Himeji, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 20°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 13th (Fri) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.

Kyoto — 5 nights

Step out of Kyoto to go to Dotombori and see Dotombori District, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Kiyomizu-dera Temple, explore the historical opulence of Osaka Castle, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sanjusangendo Temple, and take a stroll through Gion.
