Seminyak — 5 nights

A popular resort town offering a good range of tourist trips, activities, and amenities, Seminyak houses numerous tour companies providing excursions into the jungles of Bali.
Venture out of the city with trips to Jimbaran Bay (in Jimbaran), Uluwatu Temple (in Pecatu) and Tanah Lot Temple (in Beraban). Amed — 2 nights

A snaking coastline and quaint, sleepy fishing villages characterize Amed, a stretch of shorefront with seven villages in Bali's east.
Kick off your visit on the 14th (Sun): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Agung. Keep things going the next day: see the vivid underwater world at USS Liberty Shipwreck and then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

You can drive from Seminyak to Amed in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect a bit cooler evenings in Amed when traveling from Seminyak in August, with lows around 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Mon) early enough to travel to Nusa Lembongan.

Nusa Lembongan — 2 nights

The island of Nusa Lembongan sits amidst swathes of calm, clear waters as well as some of the most notable surfing waves in the region.
On the 16th (Tue), see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour and then cool off at Sunday Beach Waterpark Lembongan. On the next day, stroll through Devil's Tears and then enjoy the sand and surf at Selambung Beach.

You can do a combination of bus and ferry from Amed to Nusa Lembongan in 3.5 hours. Plan for somewhat warmer nights when traveling from Amed in August since evenings lows in Nusa Lembongan dip to 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) early enough to ride a ferry to Ubud.

Experience small-town Bali in Ubud, an atmospheric town surrounded by small settlements, farms, and rice paddies.
Step out of Ubud with an excursion to Pura Tirta Empul Segara Merta Sari in Sanur--about 40 minutes away.
