Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Biei-cho in May: highs in Asahikawa hover around 17°C, while lows dip to 16°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Fri) so you can go by car to Furano.

On the 3rd (Sat), experience rural life at Tomita Melon House, admire the natural beauty at Farm Tomita, examine the collection at Goto Sumio Art Museum, then indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens, and finally make a trip to Rokugo Shrine. Getting from Asahikawa to Furano by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Asahikawa in June, you will find days in Furano are a bit warmer (24°C), and nights are slightly colder (15°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) so you can drive to Shikaoi-cho.

Kick off your visit on the 5th (Mon): look for all kinds of wild species at Nupukano Sato, take in the awesome beauty at Mt Hakuun, witness a stunning natural landmark at Shikanoyu, then witness a stunning natural landmark at Shikaribetsukyo Onsen Meoto no Yu, then soak in some Japanese tradition at Osoushi Onsen Shika no Yu So, Day Spa, and finally walk around Shikaoicho Riding Park. You can drive from Furano to Shikaoi-cho in 2 hours. Another option is to drive. When traveling from Furano in June, plan for little chillier days in Shikaoi-cho, with highs around 20°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Tue) early enough to drive to Engaru-cho.

Kick off your visit on the 7th (Wed): explore the striking landscape at Gambo Rock, walk around Engaru sun hills park, examine the collection at Chacha World, then take in the dramatic scenery at Yamabiko Falls, and finally take an in-depth tour of Engarucho Buried Cultural Property Center.
