Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Wine Tasting Bled and Zipline. Change things up with these side-trips from Ljubljana: Bled (Parasailing & Paragliding & Bled Castle), Vintgar Gorge (in Zgornje Gorje) and Natural Bathing Place Lajšt (in Spodnja Idrija). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Ljubljana Old Town, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of St. Nicholas, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Sts. Brussels, Belgium to Ljubljana is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Traveling from Brussels in July, you will find days in Ljubljana are a bit warmer (32°C), and nights are about the same (17°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Fri) early enough to go by car to Piran.

Piran — 3 nights

Considered one of the prettiest cities on the country's coast, Piran owes much of its development to salt.
Visit Portorož Beach and Strunjan Nature Reserve for some beach relaxation. Step off the beaten path and head to Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower and Svetilnik Beach. There's still lots to do: make a trip to Tartini Square, admire the landmark architecture of Praetorian Palace, tour the pleasant surroundings at Zusterna Beach, and take in the spiritual surroundings of St. George's Church.

You can drive from Ljubljana to Piran in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Plan for somewhat warmer nights when traveling from Ljubljana in July since evenings lows in Piran dip to 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Bovec.

In the north-west part of Slovenia, Bovec sits in an area known for its rich and colorful culture and history.
Step off the beaten path and head to Kayaking & Canoeing and Lake Jasna. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bovec: Tolmin Gorge (in Tolmin) and Kranjska Gora (The Russian Chapel & Vršič Pass). Traveling by car from Piran to Bovec takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a bus. Traveling from Piran in July, expect Bovec to be a bit cooler, temps between 29°C and 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Thu) so you can drive to Bohinjsko Jezero.
