Traveling by car from Yoichi-cho to Otaru takes an hour. In April, plan for daily highs up to 9°C, and evening lows to 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Asahikawa.

Getting from Asahikawa to Biei-cho by car takes about an hour. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Asahikawa in May, plan for slightly colder nights in Biei-cho, with lows around 10°C. You'll have a few hours on the 3rd (Wed) to wrap things up before traveling to Furano.

Situated in the center of the island, Furano has become known for its idyllic rural landscape, and the drastic changes it experiences as seasons shift.
