Getting from Lake Placid to Lake George by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus. Traveling from Lake Placid in May, expect a bit warmer with lows of 9°C in Lake George. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Old Forge.
