Bordered by the Bay of Bengal, Odisha combines fascinating ancient temples, 480 km (298 mi) of coastline, and abundant natural beauty. Tribal areas concentrate in the hillier and less-touristy western part of the state, while the eastern part draws the bulk of Odisha's tourism with its Golden Triangle of Puri, Konark, and capital Bhubaneswar. Follow that route to discover a World Heritage-listed temple featuring thousands of erotic carvings, and the capital's wealth of architectural gems and ancient religious sites. Beyond the cities, extensive wetlands and nature reserves support a range of wildlife, while beaches let you get out on the sand and surf. The centuries-old cuisine is bound to provide plenty of culinary highlights on a tour of Odisha.
