Explore Yerevan's surroundings by going to Garni (Garni Temple & Havuts Tar Monastery), Khor Virap (in Lusarat) and The Monastery of Geghard (in Geghard). Areni is a village in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia. Step out of Areni with an excursion to Arpa River in Jermuk--about 48 minutes away. There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Noravank Monastery, learn about winemaking at Momik Wines, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Astvatsatsin Church, and explore the fascinating underground world of T'rchuneri (Bird) Cave.
