Cap Malheureux travel guide

At the very northern tip of Mauritius, Cap Malheureux (translating roughly as "Cape Misfortune") is named for the many ships that have sunk off its coast over the years. (It was also an unfortunate spot for the French colonial rulers who lost the land to the British after a surprise attack in 1810.) Nowadays, the only misfortune would be to miss out on a trip to Cap Malheureux, where a mixture of warm and rugged scenery complements its storied history. A small village of the same name rests on the shore, but it's the historical red-roofed church and untouched nature that provide the area's biggest attractions.
