Intimate and informative little museum. Information about the history of Ameland, the castle and whaling, as well as many everyday objects from bygone times. The story of Hidde Dirks Kat deserves a feature film! The commander's house in particular showed a beautiful image of the time. The collection of painted furniture was special.

Wonderfully quiet moment without other visitors so that we could watch the films and stroll through the rooms undisturbed. Nice and nostalgic and educational about the history on Ameland.
