Willet-Holthuysen Museum
Admire the opulence of the Dutch Golden Age, and stroll through one of Amsterdam's most luxurious historical residences at Willet-Holthuysen Museum. The house was originally built in the 17th century for the mayor of Amsterdam. After changing hands several times and undergoing a few modifications, Mrs. Willet-Holthuysen gave the house to the city, which converted it into a museum. A rich collection of artwork (much of it belonging to the previous owners of the house), is displayed throughout the rooms, which have been carefully preserved. After admiring the paintings, artifacts, furniture, and decor in the salons, ballroom, and private quarters, stop by the kitchen for a cup of tea or coffee. If the weather is nice, you can also visit the garden. The audio tour is free. Please check website for museum admission price and hours. I was not looking forward to seeing this museum. But I was very surprised. One of the BEST tours I did in Amsterdam. I would highly recommend this museum if your interested in Dutch culture.

It offers an unique view into a ream historic amsterdam canal houses. With original layout, decoration and fancy ornamental details in each corner. It also offers a view into a pretty exterior garden.
