Ko Lipe trip planner

With a name that means "Paper Island" in the local Chao Ley language, Ko Lipe is known for its white sand beaches, historical villages, and diving attractions. Located south of Ko Adang and Ko Rawi, and next to a national marine park, this island destination was originally settled by the Urak Lawoi people from Malaysia. Though Ko Lipe boasts abundant natural beauty--particularly at sunrise and sunset along the beaches--an increase in tourism and development has resulted in environmental issues because it does not fall under the same protective laws as the nearby park. Still, the island contains stretches of jungle, beaches, and coral reef, and its popular resorts, restaurants, and bars can add some entertainment to a Ko Lipe itinerary.
