Lanta Animal Welfare is a nonprofit charity in southwest Thailand dedicated to improving the lives of animals and relieving their pain and suffering. It's a rescue and rehabilitation center that also runs sterilization and rabies vaccination mobile clinics on Koh Lanta and surrounding islands and regions. It receives no government support and relies on private donations from people around the world. Visit the center and take dogs for walks along the picturesque beach, or cuddle with cats in a fun, safe environment. These animals lived hard lives before they were rescued, and love to meet people and receive affection. If you find a new best friend you simply cannot part with, look into the rehoming program for these animals who deserve a loving home after all they've been through. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Ko Lanta trip simple and quick.

This place is doing important work. I recommend to visit and see it your self. Their operation is depending of the donations, so everyone who has some extra money, or even some extra clothes / linens to spare should consider donating. Place seems quite popular for for tourists and locals, so best to book a tour in advance and be on time when the tour starts. You get to pet the cats and dogs, hear some stories why and how people are working there. In one hand it is bit sad to hear the tragic stories, but on the other hand there are so many heart worming happy ends. These guys are heroes and they don't get the appreciation that they would deserve

The work they are doing are essential and amazing to the surrounding area. If you're in Koh Lanta, you have to visit and see all the lovely cats and dogs. 200baht per person and they currently only run 1 tour a day at 10:45 due to covid.
