Trip Planner: Europe / Spain / Castile and Leon / Province of Burgos / Burgos / Museo de la Evolucion Humana
Museo de la Evolucion Humana focuses on human evolution in an apropos location, some 16 km (10 mi) from the Sierra de Atapuerca human fossil finds. The museum and grounds were designed by the architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg, and will be of interest in themselves. But inside you’ll find a recreation of the Sierra de Atapuerca mountain range, ultra-realistic reproductions of human ancestors, and the answers to your questions about the differences (or lack thereof) between us and our hunter-gatherer predecessors. You can even visit the sites of the fossil finds on a shuttle that leaves from the museum. Museo de la Evolucion Humana is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , online itinerary creator Edition.

Excellent museum. We only had a couple of hours and only managed the lower floor about the prehistoric fossil finds. So much more to see for next time. The whole museum has the central story of our evolution. Its very intriguing and interesting.
Vast underused space with no access from the equally huge underground parking so you have to walk a long way and up lots of stairs and up a big ramp just to find the discreet entrance. The museum is dry and hardly interactive. Way too much to read and not much to see. Lack of fun things for younger kids and hardly any seating areas, even for watching the many videos. Its a shame that the displays lack the animation, imagination and interaction that one would expect from a new museum
