Create an itinerary including Moscow Kremlin
A fortified complex at the heart of the city, Moscow Kremlin serves as the official residence of the country's president, and is designated as a World Heritage Site. Overlooking the city's central square, this "fortress inside a city," as its name roughly translates, includes five palaces and four cathedrals. The giant complex sits on the north bank of the Moscow River, enclosed by a protective brick wall just over 2 km (1.2 mi) long. Although the best views of the exterior are from the other side of the river, be sure to visit the citadel's museums to see collections of Russian state regalia, arms, and armor. Check the website for special events and guided tours. Put Moscow Kremlin and other Moscow attractions into our Moscow trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Never forget that this "intramuros Forbidden City" is first and foremost the seat of Russia's President the Almighty and only then a tourist attraction. So, security procedures are pretty strict...

  • Absolutely beautiful, especially for someone like myself who was originally born in Moscow. It was raining but that let me take beautiful people-less shots! Highly recommend buying the full access pass, but only if you like Russian history. The cathedrals are beautiful.
  • Must visit. 3 things to see- the bridge while entering the Kremlin, cathedral square, go up the tower, and armoury. If short on money skip the armoury. Washroom is free inside. Small snacks available. They are strict about closing times.
