Set in the apartment where Mikhail Bulgakov lived, Bulgakov's House Museum-Theater boasts an extensive collection of items relating to the famed Soviet writer. The apartment is not only significant because of the years Bulgavok spent here, but also because it's featured in major scenes of his most famous work, "The Master and Margarita," where he describes it as "The Evil Apartment" or "The Haunted Flat." Wander through the property steeped in literary history to discover Bulgakov's photographs, documents, and other personal effects, and then watch an audio-visual presentation about his life. You can complete your visit with a drink in the 1930's-style cafe. Special exhibitions, talks, and even theatre productions are frequently held on site. As a fan of Bulgakov i was eager to get to this museum and experience my favorite book in reality!I was not disappointed:discounts for students, incredibly friendly staff and they even had a huge black cat to represent "Begemot" from the book!Would recommend if you ever in Moscow 🤍

2 museums, same address! The 1st entrance is the Bulgakov Theatre Museum, more an ode to "The Master & Margarita" book. It's very simple, signs only in Russian with Russian language tours. Walk a bit further into the courtyard to reach the actual Bulgakov House Museum (200 rubles for adults) where you walk up a graffiti coloured stairwell to visit the famous apartment #50 which inspired the same location (along with crazy characters!) in the book. I preferred the actual Bulgakov House which had personal items, family history, etc with English information.
