Big Square (Piata Mare), Sibiu

Big Square (Piata Mare) features medieval and classical houses noted as "the eyes of the city," because the narrow roof window openings resemble half-open eyes. Surrounded by museums, cafes, and restaurants, and paved with granite tiles, the square was initially established as a grain market during the 14th and the 15th centuries.
