Transfagarasan Highway, Curtea de Arges

Definitely a main highlight of the trip and one of 2 must-ride roads in Romania 🏍️ 🏞️🌄 The views are simply spectacular so take a moment to stop and admire... Don't rush through. The experience of riding this road was even more unique because of the sudden weather change. Photos only show the conditions on the southern part of the road... ⛰️ The pass is split by a relatively short mountain tunnel. The moment we passed it, it was like entering a different country. Fog was as thick as milk and temperature dropped by several degree. All that, because of the cloud that wedged itself against the northern face of the mountain... Truly unforgettable experience... ⚠️ Road surface is patchy so don't speed and carefully pick your lines... Nevertheless, it's definitely worth visiting again during another trip to Balkan countries. 🦊

To put it simply - driving through the mountains is an incredible experience and the views are breathtaking. Extra care has to be taken into consideration while taking the corners along the twisty roads. And when driving after sunset I’d rather avoid stopping along the way and getting out of the car to enjoy the views - the bears are really out there!
