National Military Museum Bucharest (Muzeul Militar Nakional)
At National Military Museum Bucharest (Muzeul Militar Nakional), learn about Romania's most important battles for freedom from the pre-Roman Empire until present-day, including the 1989 revolution. King Ferdinand founded the museum in 1923. It occupies the building of a former officers' college and displays a collection of weapons, missiles, helicopters, tanks, canons, and airplanes, as well as uniforms, medals, trophies, and historical military documents. Notice the communist mural celebrating the Palace of Parliament at the entrance. The revolution exhibit includes personal belongings of soldiers and civilians killed during the 1989 uprising. The courtyard houses 20th-century military hardware, such as Soviet missile launchers and a German tank from World War II. Do not miss the spacecraft in which Romanians launched their first astronaut into orbit. Note that you have to pay extra to take photos. Make National Military Museum Bucharest (Muzeul Militar Nakional) a centerpiece of your Bucharest vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Bucharest trip maker.

Beautifully sculpted miniatures of historic forts and plenty of items on display. As a foreigner, information and descriptions translated to english was somewhat lacking overall, which lowered the overall score to a 4-star.
