Hacienda Pomarrosa, Ponce

Kurt and Eva kindly accommodated us at the last minute despite a booking mix up. They were such fascinating hosts with many stories to tell and experience to share about PR, the world of coffee growing and a lot more. The coffee was excellent and as coffee geeks ourselves we loved taking the tour with Kurt and discussing all of the coffee intricacies. The accommodations are very cosy, well built, tidy and offer great views of the surrounding hillsides. We really enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Pomarrosa. It gave us a lot of insights into the history of coffee making in PR and the area in general. The locals are also friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting this area after spending time in more touristy areas (San Juan, Culebra & Vieques). Roads were on the adventurous side though :)

Delicious coffee and delicious experience. The sound of coquís in the night, the feeling of desconnection, awesome. The owner, Kurt, is very kind and helpful. Don't miss the Coffee Tour if they offer it while you stay there!
