Playa La Poza del Obispo, Arecibo

This is a gorgeous beach with options for water sports and a diving spot for the daring ones. La Poza can be playful and sometimes the rip current is tough even for the stronger local swimmers. However, she is very sweet and gorgeous that even the little one can enjoy peacefully. I recommend that you bring food and refreshments. The locals highly encourage that you bring your own trash bags and take it with you, in order to keep the beach clean. You can also bring your hammock, there is plenty shaded area and coconut trees. One important note, keep an eye on the soft sand adjacent to the main area (larger/not shaded parking). Many vehicles have gotten stuck. Additionally, safeguard your belongings and maintain situational awareness. As any other country, there are thieves. *Important note: there is a shower (open area) but no restrooms (in the works)! I will summarize by saying that this is my love. You will truly be amazed by this beach and I hope you love the rest of the country as well.

Excellent beach to visit. You will never regret it for sure. You need to bring your food and beverages and a good supply of ice with its respective cooler. Parking is available and the water is crystal clear. It’s about 50 mins from San Juan.
