Create an itinerary including Lysefjord
One of the region's most popular inlets, Lysefjord boasts imposing cliffs, forested slopes, and a host of rock formations. A boat tour gives a good look at the marine ecosystem that characterizes the area, and you may even get a glimpse of the old village of Florli. Traverse the rugged terrain up to the "pulpit rock"--a cliff over the sea that affords a clear view of the winding waterway. Hike your way up the nearby Kjerag Mountain for a sweeping view over the surrounding peaks and the fjord itself. Top off the journey to the mountain plateau by stepping on top of the Kjeragbolten, a boulder wedged within a crevasse suspended 984 m (3,228 ft) above the fjord. • We took a 3 hour cruise by Rodne through this fjord. Was very nice! Boat was quiet and there was food and bathrooms on board.

  • Fantastic cruise, not to be missed. The view and the cruise of the fjord were terrific. The sightseeing along the way gave a wonderful look at everything around it.

  • Nice but over rated. Pulpit rock viewed from the bottom will be a real disappointment. Better to take the hike if you can. The cruise on a fast boat takes 3 hours. Better to go in the morning as the sun hits the rock straight on. We were lucky with a cloudless day in June but be prepared for wet raining cold day.
  • The Lyse fjord is yet another wonder of nature is this blessed part of Norway. It is definitely a must go if you are visiting Stavanger or surroundings. The boat tour provides some stunning visuals of the formations, including a close stop by a waterfall near by.
