Stand at one of the northernmost points of continental Europe with panoramic views of the sea and land at Nordkapphallen. First discovered by English sailor Steven Borough on his 1553 expedition in search of the Northeast Passage, the formation stands 307 m (1,007 ft) high. The plateau above offers an ideal area for watching the midnight sun or looking over the Barents Sea. Head to the visitors center to watch a video about the area's wildlife, rugged landscape, and harsh climate, with documentary footage from throughout the seasons. Be sure to stop by the globe statue on top, which has become a symbol of the area. Check the website for more information, as access and weather conditions vary greatly throughout the year. • Before you go, get ready to pay a pretty large sum to enter the area. But as it is a once-in-a-lifetime thing (for most), bite the bullet and get the inside access as well. This is an extra cost...

  • Don’t ruin your beautiful journey! If you decide to get in by car, they rip you off with over 300 kr per person (not per vehicle) and this is only for your entrance. If you decide to hike there...

  • Interesting views at the most northern point of continental Europe. There is a short panoramic film of the area as well as a restaurant and gift shop and a few other exhibits. We saw a number of reindeer on the drive up to the cape.
  • Arctic conditions but still able to admire and appreciate an amazing location. Information centre provided welcome shelter, refreshments, retail therapy and inspirational displays of times passed. Crampons recommended in winter months
