St Louis Cathedral, Port Louis

One of the oldest churches in Mauritius, St Louis Cathedral serves as a quiet place of meditation. The present Roman Catholic cathedral was built in 1933, after frequent cyclones destroyed earlier edifices from the 18th and 19th centuries. The oldest part of the church is an 18th-century obelisk fountain with four lion heads on each side, located just opposite the entrance.
