Create an itinerary including Curonian Spit National Park
Covered with sand dunes, thick forests, and expansive beaches, Curonian Spit National Park is a World Heritage Site that ranks among Lithuania's most diverse and visited natural areas. Carving an extensive lagoon out of the Baltic Sea, the park represents a great deal of the country's coastline and adjoins midway with its counterpart national park in Russia. Visit the area and explore its shoreline, boasting a network of trails for hiking and biking. If you're tempted by the sea, visit one of the yacht clubs to go for a sailing adventure on the Curonian Lagoon. Among the wild expanses of windswept coast you'll also discover old fishing villages that were once the center of the region's now-departed German population. Today they house museums, artwork, and churches. A visit to Curonian Spit National Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Klaipeda attractions planner to plot your vacation.

  • Rent a bike and spend the day in this magical place! We saw a moose, swam in the ocean and ate blackberries in the forest!
  • Very beautifull stretch of shore, beach, dunes and forest. Quite the spectacle when the sun rises or sets. Not easy to get to, trough Russia or by ferry from Klaipeida (Lithuania) and then a toll road (€ 30,-) but worth the effort.
