Packed with effigies and memorials thought to have begun after an uprising against the Russian Empire, Kryziu Kalnas plays home to nearly 100,000 crosses and represents one of Lithuania's most well-known sights. Bulldozed several times by Soviet authorities during their rule over the country, the hill has come back to life in the decades since Lithuania's independence. Visit the hill and wander the wooden pathways winding around the mound and you'll be surrounded by crucifixes of all sizes and styles.
