Mina-Mina Beach, Shimukappu-mura

Free access when you stay at Hoshino Resorts Tomamu. The pool is enormous and it makes decent waves every 30 minutes. There are also hot tubs surrounding the pool and areas to paddle board and rent flotation equipment. The locker rooms are huge and offer plentiful storage, bathrooms, showers and places to change. It was awesome to come here and relax in the hot water after snowboarding in the cold.

The semi outdoor onsen is out of this world. You can bath in the hot water, feel snowflakes falling down and admire in awe the wintry forest landscape. My daughter also loved the tidal pool. For a minimal charge, she can keep on changing floats. This is absolutely very cool.
