This is probably most amazing but under rated shrine near Tokyo. English translation or notice are limited (none for some area) but beautiful buildings and tranquil set ups are breathtaking. Lots.... more

Not a tourist destination, but a practical working shrine. They got you covered for new years prayers, family, and personal totems and trinkets. There is also a lovely garden worth walking through, especially in the spring and summer. Parking is somewhat of a nightmare during peak season (January and February) but the attendants do the best they can.

A 1,400 year old shrine located in Kanagawa. The area was very wide and it was comfortable to walk around. Lots of nature and a nice tourist spot. There's also some places to grab a quick bite both in the shrine area as well as in some restaurants nearby.
