Samukawa Shrine
Dating back over 1,500 years, Samukawa Shrine offers spacious, forested grounds to amble around, and protection from misfortune for worshippers. One of the oldest shrines in the region, and indeed the country, the holy place offers a chance to admire intricate architecture and typically perfect roofing. Be sure to visit the peaceful garden at the rear; you can gain entry by asking for a complimentary ticket at reception, signing your name, and cleansing your hands in the fountain. Not a tourist destination, but a practical working shrine. They got you covered for new years prayers, family, and personal totems and trinkets. There is also a lovely garden worth walking through, especially in the spring and summer. Parking is somewhat of a nightmare during peak season (January and February) but the attendants do the best they can.

A 1,400 year old shrine located in Kanagawa. The area was very wide and it was comfortable to walk around. Lots of nature and a nice tourist spot. There's also some places to grab a quick bite both in the shrine area as well as in some restaurants nearby.
