To get there was very easy as you can catch the bus at Otaru station or a taxi very easily. But the way back you will have to plan well for the bus back as per timetable... waiting at the bus stop...

They need to shut this place down - it is so sad to see the animals, especially the dolphins swimming in cricles, so stressed out. I would not visit this place again.

Much meet and exceed my expectations, small but neat and very interesting shows for penguins walk and dolphins shows. Kids would love it, it takes you a round 30 minutes from JR station there, and the bus normally crowded and less frequent, so better to check out timetable beforehand. Be prepared with a book there are some stamps to collect , kids would love

Not the largest aquarium by any means but for the entrance fee it's well worth it. Still a decently wide range of exhibits and species on show, some of which i've not seen before despite having visiting quite a few aquariums. The dolphin show and particularly the penguin parade are the key attractions. Get up real close and personal as the terribly cute penguins waddle past you.
