  • We arrived in Otaru by train and thus the JR Otaru station was our first stop. Not as huge as other JR stations, this station has the essential facilities and is clean. We stayed at the Dormy Inn...

  • It is small yet have many facilities. Family friendly station. First, it has waiting room that has a number of seats. While we navigate our way, our toddlers can have a seat at the waiting room. It also has lots of shops to buy food. Toilets are also available. Family with young children that brought bulky stroller or twim stroller can use the ramp outside the train station to move around. From the station's exit, we can see the beautiful view of the sea at the end of the road (it might take about 15 minutes walk) There's Otaru Canal as well at the end of the road. Otaru is a small interesting town. Just in front of Otaru train station is Otaru bus terminal. You can hop on Otaru Sightseeing Bus from here.
  • I came during the winter. It was a beutiful tiny station. Just walked by from the station to the Canal & find the atmospher of port city. When you exit the station you will be greeted by a very cold sea breeze.
