Colorful blossoms abound at Farm Tomita, an expansive network of flower fields that remains best known for its lavender, a traditional favorite of the island. The verdant farm, nestled in the forested foothills of the surrounding Tokachi Mountains, grows everything from poppies and baby's breath to roses, though lavender truly takes the cake here. Browse the shop after wandering to pick up a range of lavender-themed, lavender-flavored, and lavender-infused goods, like pastries and creams. • Visited mid-May so the fields weren’t fully filled in, but from what we saw the farm is sure to be beautiful in peak season. Free admission. They have several fields of different flowers to enjoy, an ice cream shop, as well as a souvenir shop filled with a variety of lavender goods. Definitely worth stopping and strolling through the nice flowers!
  • Beautiful place to enjoy some lavender fields and fresh melon (the best I've ever had)! Lavender is in its peak in June but I went in August and there were still some growing, but also a bunch of other gorgeous flowers. Plus, the melon is the best in August. There were a lot of people there, but everyone got a chance to get their perfect instagram photos, so just take your time and don't rush. It's not a place to rush. Also, I highly recommend taking the scenic train that only runs in the summer! One of the train stops is near this farm.
