Samurai Museum, Tokyo

A large collection of different armour sets from many periods of Japanese history. Tours are in multiple languages and are included in the ticket although you aren't really allowed to wander through on your own. We were able to try on different helmets and outfits for free which was nice, too

Well, the guided tour in English takes about an hour but is surely worth it. They try really hard to entertain the guests. The ¥1800 fee is kind of outrageous for their collection but as they say themselves, they have to upkeep these splendid authentic armors(some are replicas but some are real) in the middle of Shinjuku. Overall, I think it’s worth a visit if you’re a visitor from abroad. I would give them five stars if the tour was ¥1000 but I suppose their ends don’t meet at that price. Good enough, I recommend the place. I think the Japanese have a word for places like this: ‘敢闘賞’, which roughly translates into 'deserving the well fought award'. Oh, I think they could improve their souvenir shop though. They have some 30K+ armored figurines and cheap looking straps, they need something in between like 3000-5000 yen stuffs that could appeal to foreigners.
