Constructed in 1924, this cultural treasure is one of only three remaining stations preserved from this period, utilizing wood and traditionally curved, tiled roofs, topped by ridgepole ornaments in a fashion distinct to the country. It is a comfortable station ruin where you can feel the atmosphere of the JNR era. It is recommended that you take your time and relax. As the name suggests, you can go on foot from Izumo Taisha, so it is perfect for sightseeing in Izumo. It is also included in the Twilight Mizukaze route, so it is a tourist destination that JR West has confidence in.
