  • Taking the road up is a bit easier than the stairs, but will of course take a little longer. Most people can make it up easily.

  • The recently famous place to get a picture of post card Japan. You can see Mount Fuji, a beautiful pagoda, and, if you are there during the right time of season, cherry blossoms. These pictures are from April 12, 2022. Because the place has become extremely popular over the last few years, expect a queue. I got there at 7:30 AM. It opens at 8 AM. I only had to wait about 30 to 40 minutes in the queue. However, the view from the “queue” is gorgeous with an ocean of cherry trees in season. They allow people in in groups, it seems around 25 people at a time in each area. There are two areas, upper area with the pictures of mount Fuji, and bottom area, looking the opposite direction. They will move you from the top area to the bottom area as a group. You are allowed to spend about 10-15 minutes in each area. It is just enough time to wander around. It really is as beautiful as you expect. Please be aware that there is a rather steep staircase with about 400 steps.
  • This is a must see. There is parking and we went at sunset on a Sunday. There was no line or ticket to purchase. There are however a significant amount of stairs. I'm not sure my mom with knee issues could do it. There is a path as well that's a lottle longer like a paved hike - it was lit when we took it down. I was definitely sweating and out of breath but it was worth every moment. There are so many beautiful photo opportunities, especially when it is clear to see Mt Fuji. There is a sitting area up top too which is lovely to watch the sunset. If you are debating, don't - make time for this and you won't regret it.
