Castello di San Giusto
Head to Castello di San Giusto, a former Roman fort, to visit the city museum's impressive collection of weapons and furnishings. Set atop a large hill, the 15th-century castle also boasts a collection of mosaic tiles, statuary, and burial stones, which are hidden in a series of deep underground cellars accessed from one corner of the site. Frederick of Habsburg initiated construction of the castle, which was finished by Venetians. Pay attention to the metal statues that welcome you at the entrance, which tell the entertaining story of Mike and Jake. It is cool that you can see all parts of Trieste from above, not only the port. The armory is quite boring, but the lapidary is more interesting than most lapidaries I have seen before.

It's a disabled person I can only be disappointed about this place. There was no way to get on the pavement with my mobility scooter. And although that are part in places for disabled people the invalid toilet can only be reached by stairs... Also the tunnel supposedly enabling disabled people to go to the castle has stairs. Maybe someone on the wheelchair with assistance can manage this steps, but for an independent disabled person on the mobility scooter there is nothing to enjoy!

The ticket only costs 5 euros. On the wall you will get a very good panoramic view of the city.
