Create an itinerary including Ortigia
Ortigia is the historic city center of Syracuse on the island of Sicily. Connected to the main island by a series of three bridges, this small island features the majority of Syracuse's cultural and artistic heritage, spanning more than 2,500 years of history. Meander through the narrow alleyways admiring the mix of medieval architecture and Roman ruins. You'll see the ancient Temple of Apollo and the city's main cathedral, which was built using remains from the Temple of Athena. Try to stop by island's outdoor market, where you can buy local goods and handmade products. • Best place to find a good restaurant and enjoy a glass of wine while enjoying the sunset. A walk to the furthest point through the fort is worthwhile, too.

  • Beautiful island with ancient and authentic atmosphere. Amazing coastline, cousy little restaurants and wine bars. Almost no tourists during winter.
  • One of the most beautiful old cities in Italy. Architecture, Art, atmosphere, cafe's, restaurants, artisanal shops, sea, port and boats. I could go on. You have to experience this, you will not regret it, nor forget it. 👌
