Sanctuary of Barbana Church
On a small island reachable by boat, Sanctuary of Barbana Church occupies the site of an ancient shrine, with origins that possibly date back to the 6th century CE. The current church you'll see there was built in the 1930s and notably includes Art Deco frescoes and stained-glass windows. Don't miss the pictures on the back wall of the church, hand drawn and depicting local events from the 19th century, providing a kind of snapshot of recent history. You can grab a simple meal and a drink at the island cafe before heading back to explore the rest of Grado. Nice little island reachable by a ferry from grado (25min). Monks live there and you can visit the church. The also have. Nice little restaurant. I think only the fish and sandwich dishes are fresh, the rest was made out of frozen products - still good but nothing special

A beautiful sanctuay located on a small island near Grado. The church houses the beautiful statues of Madonna di Barbana. The out building are amasing. There are lovely statues. There is also a small souvenir shop, cafe, restaurant and washrooms are numerous and well maintained. U get there and back by a great ferry service.
