Chiesa della Santissima Trinita, Pordenone

Small church with octagonal plan on the outside and circular on the inside built in the 16th century. and dedicated to the Holy Trinity; it is located beyond the Noncello river; inside it houses frescoes by a local painter, Giovanni Maria Zaffoni known as Calderari, a pupil of Pordenone and Pomponio Amalteo; I understand that it has been entrusted to the Romanians of the Orthodox rite and that a mass in the Latin Catholic rite is officiated on Sunday

Small church "of the Oltre Noncello", little frequented, but a true treasure chest of that minor art, not as precious as the Sistine Chapel, but certainly equally of great value and a pleasant surprise for those who love to search for small hidden art treasures. Known as the church of the Santissima, it has an octagonal plan, as does the bell tower. Octagonal like the sanctuary of Cordovado, built in 1526/39 by pre' Ippolito Morone, the interiors were frescoed, with a happy hand, by Giovanni Maria Zaffoni, known as Calderari, the main pupil of Pordenone. Given in use to the Orthodox of the Romanian rite, as can be easily seen from the many icons present, on Sunday afternoons it is officiated with the traditional Catholic rite, in Latin.
