One of the best ancient cargo maritime museums in Pisa. Boats there that are thousands of years old ! Staff are friendly and the building is beautiful. It was a Medici naval yard. Absolutely crazy levels of history.

Our first hint should have been that there was nobody in line and it looked abandoned. This museum might be interesting to adult history buffs but this is a terrible, terrible, terrible museum for kids. We had quite a spectrum of ages and it was a painful experience with too much reading, not enough variety of artifacts, and not a single interactive item or experience. The staff inside were also rude and unhelpful. I’m so sorry we wasted time and money on this. Avoid it unless you just want some expensive air-conditioning while being bored to literal tears.
