Create an itinerary including Palazzo Ducale
Dating back to the golden Republican age of Genoa, Palazzo Ducale originally served as a home for the doges of Genoa and has had many stages of construction over the centuries. The palace, partially rebuilt in Neoclassic style after the fire of 1777, is now a cultural center and art museum with a wide range of modern and classical pieces. A chapel showcases frescoes from the 17th century. Outside the palace, you can explore among the lemon trees, Mediterranean flowers, and sculptures. You can see the old quarter of Genoa peeking out from behind the fountains. Free audio guides are available. Check online to find out about free concerts and exhibits. • Most of the Doge Palace was closed. We saw two temporary exhibitions, instead. One of them included the exquisite chapel.
  • Beautiful architecture, filled with history and is bery educational. 😊 It's a museum that is well worth the ticket price. Visited during the Ruben's exhibition which was also amazing. Buy your tickets online for a cheaper rate. Highly recommended.
