A work of art in itself, Galleria Nazionale di Palazzo Spinola resides in a spectacular 17th-century mansion, the former residence of the Grimaldi family nobility. A richly decorated exterior gives way to preserved, original pieces, including the furniture, curtains, porcelain, and silverware. The mansion also houses a prestigious art collection, including the works of famous Italian artists such as Giovanni Battista Carlone, Castello, Strozzi, Cambiaso, Parodi, Antonello da Messina, and Giordano. The art collection is housed over the two floors of the mansion. • Would recommend a visit. It wasn’t too busy and had some interesting exhibitions. We paid €2 each for under 25 rate. Make sure you know how to get here precisely as the streets around this location seemed like the red light district of Genoa.
  • Potentially the best palace & art museum in Genoa, rivaling Palazzo Reale. Not only is the Genoese art collection fantastic, but there's a lovely ceramics & tableware collection too, and recreations of the kitchen and dining areas. Tickets to Palazzo Reale also grant you access to this palace! At least our online tickets did.
